Job summary

We are looking for a dedicated, dynamic and conscientious Operations Manager who will be responsible for delivery, leadership and management of an operational team/service within Wetherby Young Offender Institute (WYOI) and Adel Beck Secure Childrens Home.

The successful candidate will have a lead role in the management and development of this exciting and challenging service. In doing so, they will support a wider integrated healthcare team (including partner agencies) to ensure young people and children in our care receive the best possible healthcare delivery.

The post holder will work to organisational, professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance whilst acting as a clear role model for the service at all times.

Main duties of the job

Responsibility for all operational aspects of service provision within the context of the service specification/ operational policies.

Manage the allocated budget for the team and support senior managers/head of service to manage the overall service budget where appropriate.

Responsibility for the performance and management of an operational team/ service within line management structure specific to service area.

Delegate, organise and prioritise resources autonomously to ensure the safe delivery of the service and making judgements in complex situations e.g. unexpected service demands.

Provide a leadership style which is underpinned by strongly held values around equality, diversity and openness; effectively builds and maintains relationships with direct reportee(s) and other key individuals.

Promotes and represents service at a strategic and operational level.

Actively works towards developing and maintaining effective operational and corporate working relationships.
