Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced looked After Childrens Nurse to join and lead an expanding team of Specialist Nurses for looked after children. The Professional Lead Nurse is a clinical and operational management role, working a caseload and managing a team of highly skilled, motivated specialist nurses.
You would be working closely with the Designated Nurse to implement National and local strategy and guidance to reduce health inequalities and improve quality of life of some of the citys most vulnerable children and young people.
There is a hybrid approach to work within the team, Kernal House is a shared base with childrens social care (LS14) , White Rose Park is the LCH base.

Main duties of the job
The looked After Nursing Team work with some of the citys most deprived children and young people. As team leader, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be committed to providing and maintaining high standards of care, lead by example, offer clinical leadership and supervision and be able to work effectively as part of a multi-agency team to promote effective systems working.
In addition you will have experience and skills to manage your own caseload, and a willingness to take on some of the more complex cases.
Applicants will need to have considerable experience of working with vulnerable groups who have experienced trauma, some line management experience and be proficient in providing clinical supervision.

The post holder will be
responsible for setting professional direction and delivering highly specialist
clinical care to their own caseload and service within their speciality area.
In doing so, they will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient centred
programmes of care ensuring that they practice within their sphere of
competence and knowledge. The post holder will work to professional and regulatory
body codes, standards and guidance at all times ensuring that their practice,
and that of others, is grounded in evidence based theoretical and practical
knowledge. They will be responsible for
developing new and innovative clinical practices responding to emerging
knowledge and techniques and working with other services where appropriate to
