Job summary

We are delighted to be able to offer secondment or temporary post for 1 year to cover maternity leave as Operational Team Manager for our Children and Young Peoples Therapy Team. In this role, you will support and drive the continued implementation of our CYPMHS Therapy Team. The pathway is supported by a Multidisciplinary team and consists of mental health professionals from a range of backgrounds. We offer a range of therapies and interventions to CYP which include CBT, Psychotherapy, Family Therapy, EMDR and groups. The service has a strong leadership team to support the manager clinically. The post is part time and we are keen to offer flexible working hours.

Main duties of the job

As the Operational Team Manager, you will act as a role model within the service to foster a culture of professional development and excellent standards of care, effective working and taking collaborative approaches whilst working across complex multiagency systems to ensure the best possible outcome for young people. With a sound understanding of national drivers, you will work as part of the CAMHS leadership team, supporting the ongoing development and delivery of services as we continue to navigate our way through the effects of the pandemic. You will also be responsible for providing line management including, appraisals and supporting the development of all team members. You will also manage other HR polices such as attendance management. You will be responsible for reporting on performance of the team, sharing and prompting success while, escalating concerns. Job responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for delivery, leadership and management of an operational team/ service within a specialist service area. In doing so, they will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate team performance and delivery, ensuring that they practice within their sphere of competence and knowledge. The post holder will work to organisational, professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance at all times ensuring that their practice is grounded in evidence based theoretical and practical knowledge. They will be responsible for developing new and innovative service developments within their sphere of practice responding to emerging knowledge and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

1. Professional

1.1. Maintain managerial standards demonstrated through undertaking appraisal, training and developmental opportunities at a frequency agreed with senior management team/head of service in the relevant field.

2. Management

2.1. Responsible for all operational aspects of service provision within the context of the service specification/ operational policies

2.2. Manage the allocated budget for the team and support senior managers/head of service to manage the overall service budget where appropriate

2.3. Responsible for the performance and management of an operational team/ service within a specific service area and within line management structure specific to service area

2.4. Delegate, organise and prioritise resources autonomously to ensure the safe delivery of the service and making judgements in complex situations e.g. unexpected service demands

2.5. Ensures that all team and individual objectives are clearly defined within the wider Directorate framework and in line with Trusts objectives, using the appraisal process as a vehicle for this.

2.6. Takes responsibility for their own and others health and safety in the working environment.

2.7. Makes complex judgements by analysing and interpreting a wide variety of information and data sources to compare options and to take action as appropriate.

2.8. Ensures the effective and efficient use of resources e.g. staff, supplies to maintain the team establishment and comply with the service delivery model
