Job summary
We
have an exciting opportunity to grow our Children's SLT Team and are looking to
appoint several Speech and Language Therapists (Band 5) within our mainstream
pathway. There are permanent and fixed term roles available.
You will be working across the city
supporting children, young people, and their families within community clinics
and/or their educational setting who present with speech, language and
communication needs. We are looking for applicants with an SLT qualification
and who are registered or about to be registered with HCPC.
Main duties of the job
We
currently have up to 52.5 hours of Band 5 vacancy within the Leeds Children's
Speech and Language Therapy service to work as part of the mainstream community
clinics and schools offer across Leeds. You will provide assessment, diagnosis
and intervention for children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs
(SLCN).
You will work within a patch based team, compromising of other Speech
and Language Therapists, Specialist Speech and Language Therapists and Speech
and Language Therapy Assistants. You will be responsible for the delivery of
episodes of care that include assessment, interventions and ongoing support for
children, families and practitioners.

We also provide support from the wider Speech and Language Therapy team with access to supervision with peers and other SLTs, along with relevant CPD opportunities.

Job Purpose
The post holder will be responsible for their designated workload within their speciality area with access to the support, advice and management from a senior clinician whilst not directly supervised. In doing so, they will assess, diagnose, plan, deliver and evaluate patient centred programmes of care ensuring that they practice within their sphere of competence and knowledge. The post holder will work to professional protocols and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance at all times ensuring that their practice is grounded in the best available evidence based theoretical and practical knowledge.
