Job summary
We are committed to offering safe services to all the people we provide NHS services to, and we need your help! The Patient Safety Partner (PSP) is a new and evolving role developed by NHS England to help improve patient safety across health care in the UK. Here at Leeds Community Healthcare, we are excited to be actively recruiting for two PSPs to work alongside our staff, patients, service users and families in representing the patient / service user voice and to influence and improve safety across our organisation. This is likely to include:
Helping make sure patient safety is at the forefront of all we do
Membership of safety and quality committees
Involvement in patient safety improvement projects
Working with the Trust Board to consider how to improve safety
Involvement in staff patient safety training
Participation in investigation oversight groups

Main duties of the job
As a patient safety partner (PSP) you are actively involved in the design of safer healthcare at all levels in the organisation.
This includes roles in safety governance e.g. sitting on relevant committees to support how safety issues should be addressed and monitored and providing appropriate challenge to ensure learning and change and in the development and implementation of relevant strategy and policy.
In Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust (LCH) as a PSP you will bring an essential service user, patient, carer and family perspective to any committee/group you are involved in and any project you support. As a Partner you can draw on your own experience and the training we will provide, to make a meaningful difference to patient care. Your independence allows you to raise questions and see things differently, noticing things that may not be seen by professionals.
