Job summary

We are looking for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our CAMHS Enhanced Support Team in Leeds. It is a temporary post for 3 days for a period of 1 year. We welcome applications from individuals with experience in managing risk and share our passion to deliver the best quality care experience for Children and Young people. We will offer excellent support to individuals looking for a senior practitioner role and will provided opportunities for you to develop your leadership skills. We are a multidisciplinary team who provide enhanced support to some of our most vulnerable young people. Together we specialise in reducing and managing a young persons risk by building resilience in them and their families and supporting them to access services. We work alongside clinicians from other areas of the CAMHS service, including our Therapy team and the Crisis Team. Professional registration is essential and secondment opportunities will be considered.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Practitioner you will provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to other team members. You will hold an individual caseload, supported by our Multi-Disciplinary Team that includes Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Mental Health Nurses, and Social Workers. You will work with children and young people presenting with high risk or with complex needs. Working directly and indirectly, using a therapeutic informed approach to provide enhanced support and liaise with other services to support the needs of the C&YP. You will participate in supportive weekly scheduled group supervision where we take a team approach to formulation and risk management to ensure we keep young people safe and promote a recovery-based model. You will have an opportunity to develop your own leadership skills within this developing team and help shape the services to meet the needs of C&YP. In addition, you will support the wider CAMHS team by undertaking the duty role on a rota.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering and leading highly specialist clinical care to their own caseload and service within their speciality area. In doing so, they will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient centred programmes of care ensuring that they practice within their sphere of competence and knowledge.
