Job summary
LSH has a unique and exciting opportunity to work as a Trainee Clinical Nurse Specialist. We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse. The ideal candidate will hold qualifications in both sexual health and contraception such as DFSRH diploma, LoC SDI or STIF intermediate. The candidate will be competent in sub dermal implant insertion/removal and is a Student Nurse Preceptor. You should be a Non-Medical Prescriber or willing to undertake training. The ability to fit intrauterine devices is desirable along with STIF advanced but not essential as training will be given
Main duties of the job
The post-holder is responsible for providing clinical nursing expertise to clients in the field of SRH/GUM, providing a high standard of care to clients, working with other agencies and assisting in assessment planning, implementation, auditing and clinical care provision for the team. They will be a source of specialist knowledge to clinical colleagues in Sexual Health and the wider organisation. Willing to undertake advanced STIF training and training to fit intrauterine devices.

Job Purpose
The post holder will be responsible for delivering and leading highly specialist clinical care to their own caseload and service within their speciality area. In doing so, they will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient centred programmes of care ensuring that they practice within their sphere of competence and knowledge. The post holder will work to professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance at all times ensuring that their practice is grounded in evidence based theoretical and practical knowledge. They will be responsible for developing new and innovative clinical practices responding to emerging knowledge and techniques and working with other services where appropriate to make improvements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical
1.1. Utilises highly developed specialised knowledge covering a range of procedures and underpinned by relevant broad based knowledge, experience and competence
