Job summary

At Leeds Community Healthcare, we are excited to invite a talented Data Warehouse Analyst to join our dynamic team. The Business Intelligence Team are a friendly team who will provide the candidate with lots of opportunity to develop further skills in data manipulation as well as a chance to be part of the new service, shaping the future of data analysis across the trust. This role would suit someone with good experience with SQL, relational databases and data manipulation. It is an exciting opportunity to develop data structures within our organisational data warehouse that will provide valuable intelligence to the organisation. There will also be the opportunity to develop and deliver automated reporting to the organisation and we plan to use PowerBI to deliver this. We are looking for someone with good analytical skills and a logical approach. This post will be a 12 months fixed term or secondment contract from the start date of the post and will entail remote and flexible working.

Main duties of the job

As a Data Warehouse Analyst, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data warehouse that serve as the foundation for our data-driven decision-making. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and ensure efficient ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes from various sources. Your expertise in creating engaging reports and dynamic dashboards using PowerBI will be vital to our success. Development of data sets within our data warehouse to ensure information can efficiently flow into regular reporting Develop and support high quality data standards ensuring that data entered onto our systems, is accurate, complete and up to date Lead on the development and ongoing production of performance reporting.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The Data Warehouse Analyst will support the work of the Informatics team by:

  • Maintaining Leeds Community Healthcare information department data warehouses and related data feeds ensuring data integrity.

Ensuring a range of information is extracted and processed in accordance with policies & procedures.

Monitoring, identification and investigating a range of data quality issues and escalate to the relevant parties.

Performing the maintenance and system administration of databases.

Working closely with Business Intelligence department colleagues in supporting reporting requirements

Acting as a technical expert to users both within the department and to other departments around the Trust in the following key areas: Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS), Data Warehousing Architectures and Scripting

Key Responsibilities

1. Key Operational Responsibilities

  1. Carry out and support complex technical database developments.
  2. Responsible for the maintenance and development of the Trust Data Warehouse and BI platform, including interpretation of data, report creation and solution design and development
  3. Manage and develop underlying Data Warehouse structures to support the overall department strategy
  4. Designing and developing the Data Warehousing infrastructure to support the reporting needs of the Trust
  5. Lead on the development and modification of extract, transform and load (ETL) routines, using tools and libraries in place within the system administration department (i.e. T-SQL, SSIS)
  6. Assisting in creating web forms using ASP.NET framework
  7. Compose complex SQL queries and provide quality assurance for SQL queries composed by others
  8. Support the Information Manager in ensuring the interagency, security of the Trust data warehouse
  9. Responsible for ensuring the Data Warehouses and national dataset are maintained in line with changes to the Clinical Systems
  10. Ensure available information is accurate, up-to-date and fit for purpose
  11. Submit approved datasets and returns.

12. Perform SQL database maintenance and system administration as required.

13. Responsible for providing technical advice on all Data Warehousing and BI solutions within the Trust

14. Produce and maintain written documentation of data warehouse structures

15. Support production of the Community Services Data Set (CSDS) and the Commissioning Data Sets (CDS) ensuring they are timely, efficient, meet all contractual targets and that there is documentation and process maps available to support these processes

16. Identify data issues and work with the wider team to develop solutions.

17. Adhere to the Trust Data Quality policy by highlighting and investigating data anomalies and inconsistencies as part of the information production process

18. Ensure NHS and agreed internal data standards are applied and adhered to.

19. Support the development of new procedures and techniques for routinely auditing data.

20. To develop and support high quality data standards.

21. Provide high quality service to service users and ensure they are kept informed of any delays or problems with data delivery.

22. Become familiar with the clinical information systems used by the Trust, especially functions key to data input, extract and reporting.

23. Assist with projects at planning, development and implementation stages if appropriate.

24. Deputise as required for more senior staff, including the attendance at meetings, where necessary.

  1. The post holder has a legal responsibility to treat all records created, maintained, used or handled as part of their work within the Trust in confidence (even after an employee has left). They also have a duty to manage records in line with the organisations records management policy.
