Job summary
Leeds community Healthcare Podiatry service provides a community based service for the assessment and treatment of podiatric and lower limb pathologies. Our team of Podiatrists and Assistant Practitioners provide the most appropriate advice, treatment and where appropriate onward referral and signposting to meet the individual needs of patients.
The service consists of a variety of teams - including geographically based teams providing high risk podiatric care and a biomechanics team providing advanced and specialist biomechanical interventions. In addition there are Specialist Podiatrists in the fields of diabetes, mental health and learning disabilities and high risk patients.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will help to deliver high quality Podiatric interventions to a caseload of patients with complex needs, delegating to Podiatry Assistants where appropriate. As a skilled Podiatrist, you will assist the Specialist Podiatrists in co-coordinating a large caseload of patients, ensuring clinical needs are prioritised and met.
In addition, you will assess, diagnose, develop and implement individual care packages for patients with a wide range of clinical needs.
The Podiatry Service will support your development with a structured preceptorship package and an assigned mentor.

The post holder will be responsible for their designated workload within their speciality area with access to the support, advice and management from a senior clinician whilst not directly supervised. In doing so, they will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient centred programmes of care ensuring that they practice within their sphere of competence and knowledge. The post holder will work to professional protocols and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance at all times ensuring that their practice is grounded in the best available evidence based theoretical and practical knowledge.
