Apprenticeship.
Our Nursing Associate Apprenticeship, in conjunction with the University
of Huddersfield, offers a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn
through a comprehensive two-year foundation degree. Upon successful
completion, apprentices will be eligible to apply for registration as a
Nursing Associate with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Main duties of the job
About the Role:
As a Nursing Associate, you'll step into a highly trained registered
generic role that serves as a vital link between non-registered
Healthcare Support Workers and Registered Nurses. You will work under the
guidance of Registered Nurses to deliver compassionate care to patients.
Key Benefits:
Earn while you learn: This apprenticeship offers a development
opportunity for individuals with GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 or
above (or equivalent).
Career advancement: Upon successful completion, Registered Nursing
Associates have the option to pursue further study at level 6 to become a
Registered Nurse, choosing from fields such as Adult, Child, Learning
Disability, or Mental Health.
Financial support: Nursing Associate Apprentices remain employed by LCH
and are seconded to the apprenticeship on a minimum B3 for the duration
of the program. All university course fees are covered through the Trust
apprenticeship levy.

Job Purpose
The post holder will be an Apprentice Nursing Associate on a two-year education programme working towards a foundation degree and on successful completion registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Nursing Associate.
The course combines work-based and academic learning between Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust (LCH) and an approved Higher Educational Institute (HEI).
As an Apprentice Nursing Associate, the post holder will be based in a clinical area within LCH and gain experience working across both internal and external placements to develop an understanding of the different areas of local healthcare service and meet the NMC requirements.
You will be required to achieve the standards as set out by the NMC, HEI and the Institute of Apprenticeships and on completion of the two-year programme register as a nursing associate.
During the education programme you will develop skills and knowledge that will allow you to work in todays dynamic and changing healthcare environment. You will be required to commit to self-directed study and successfully complete all components of the education programme within the contract period.
The Apprentice Nursing Associate is a paid member of staff working within the Trust, you will be allocated set time to attend academic study and placements.
