Fit Testing Practitioner

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Fit Tester to join the Infection Prevention and Control team at Leeds Community Health Care Trust. We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual who genuinely has a desire to work in the speciality of Fit Testing and Infection Prevention and Control. You must be passionate about staff and patient safety, enthusiastic about exploring new ways of working and be a team player. We are looking for someone with good time management and organisational skills, is computer literate and can demonstrate autonomous working with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) fit testing for clinical staff independently, but with support available from a supervisor within the IPC team. In doing so, they will be ensuring that staff who have been risk assessed as requiring an FFP3 mask are provided with fit testing and support with PPE compliant with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements. Fit tests shall be performed at locations throughout the Trust and on occasion, outside of normal working hours to meet the needs of our community workforce; however, most activity will take place between 8am and 5pm Monday-Friday (except bank holidays).
