Job summary
Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an experienced, motivated, and forward thinking Team Manager to lead one of our teams within our Childrens Speech and Language Therapy (CSLT) Service. This is an exciting opportunity to shape high quality care for children and young people across Leeds, working within a supportive and innovative community healthcare environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys people management, project support, relationship building and working in a dynamic service that supports Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) and Speech and Language Therapy assistants (SLTAs) to deliver effective and responsive speech and language therapy. This includes assessment and intervention for children and young people with speech, language and communication needs across Leeds (and in some cases adults). About the Role You will play a key role in supporting the delivery and growth of our CSLT service in various specialist pathways, working closely with the CSLT Head of Service, CSLT Service manager, CSLT Clinical lead, CSLT traded lead, CSLT Business Lead and wider therapy and administrative teams. The role involves workforce management, following of HR policies, managing waiting lists and being responsive to complaints and concerns. You will be based at White Rose office park. The hours are 0.5wte - 18.75 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include: Providing clinical leadership and maintaining agreed levels of clinical practice Managing team performance and resources Leading service development, quality improvement, and clinical audit Supporting staff through supervision, appraisal, and performance management Building strong partnerships across multidisciplinary teams and external agencies Ensuring high standards of patient experience, safety, and governance About you: You will be a registered SLT clinician with significant experience in Childrens SLT, strong leadership skills, and a passion for improving outcomes for children and families. You will be confident in managing teams, navigating complex situations, and driving service innovation. Ideally you will have had experience of managing a team and will have highly developed interpersonal skills. One of your designated portfolios will be the management of student offers into our service alongside our Leeds Beckett Univeristy colleagues and supporting our SLT apprentice.
