Respiratory Nurse Specialist

Job summary
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Respiratory Nurse Specialist to join the Leeds Community Respiratory Service.
You will be joining a well-established multi-disciplinary team of specialist nurses, specialist physiotherapists, associate practitioners, and clinical support workers. We provide care and treatment predominantly for patients with COPD, at home and in clinics. The aim of the service is to improve the quality of life of patients living with COPD, empowering patients to manage their condition and working in partnership with them to make their own decisions.
We collaborate closely with colleagues in local hospitals to facilitate hospital discharges and support admission avoidance as well as chronic disease management and pulmonary rehabilitation. In addition, we provide the Leeds Home Oxygen Service, providing assessment and monitoring for respiratory and non-respiratory patients needing oxygen at home.
Main duties of the job
You will be passionate about patient care, flexible in your approach, and committed to service development. Delivering care in patient homes, you will be comfortable making decisions and working independently with the support of the wider multi-disciplinary team.
You will have experience of caring for patients with COPD, but full training and support will be provided. We encourage applicants to contact the service prior to applying for the role.
You will work Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, we are a weekday service covering Bank Holidays as they fall with the exception of Christmas Day. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you can travel independently across the city and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.
The role is part time 22.5 hours over 3 days.
