You will work with children from 0-19 years and their families/carers. Children are referred from primary care and child health colleagues within acute and community organisations in Leeds.
Full training will be provided to allow you to manage a caseload of children who are enterally fed and are seen in clinics / schools or at home either via telephone, virtually or face to face. Many of these children will be life-long enteral feeders, so you will be supporting the continuity of care that many require across a range of settings, including respite and foster care.
Your caseload will also include children with a variety feeding difficulties and nutritional issues. This includes food intolerances such as Cows Milk Protein Intolerance (CMPI), as well as faltering growth and fussy eating. Families are seen in community clinics and joint clinics with paediatricians. We liaise with wider teams that can include social services, education, safeguarding and other healthcare professionals.
