Job summary
Applications are invited for the above post to join the Podiatry and Foot Health Service.
You will be a member of a dedicated team but equally you need to be able to work alone for the majority of your time. Your role will be supported by Podiatrists however you will work on your own in a variety of locations to carry out moderate risk diabetes foot screening and ensuring clinics are safe and clean for our patients.
You must possess excellent administrative and time management skills, be a self starter, computer literate and be able to deal with complex information, complaints and at times, contentious patients.
Training on how to carry out Diabetes Foot Screening and other aspects of the role will be provided so previous experience is not essential.
You must also be able to meet the travel commitments for this post and access to a vehicle is essential.

Main duties of the job
- Undertake diabetes foot assessments within delegated caseload to include:a) Accurate use of screening equipment e.g. monofilamentb) Ability to identify risk status and categorize patients into appropriate risk bandingc) Ability to receive and process complex information from patients regarding symptoms, medication, test results etc.
- To encourage patients to maintain their independence, where appropriate, utilizing foot files, where appropriate, and emollient to help maintain their foot health.
- Promotes a 'can do' attitude and determination to develop and sustain a dynamic and responsive administrative and operational service which delivers best practice.
- Able to implement interventions, liaising with colleagues and partners to ensure an integrated approach to the needs of the service user.
- To organise and deliver skilled clinical support work without direct supervision.
