Job summary

You will be part of a team providing home based short breaks and school based care to children and young people with complex nursing needs in a Specialist School setting. You will also be required to carry out phlebotomy skills under both direct and indirect supervision of the Community Children's Nursing (CCN) Team, in a community clinic setting.

You will be required to carry out clinical and nursing care under both direct and indirect supervision of both the Community Children's Nursing(CCN) and Special School Nursing (SCN) Teams within Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust. You will be required to demonstrate skills learned using a competency based framework, following a child specific training and assessment programme.

Main duties of the job

Working alongside the Special School and Community Children's Nursing Teams you will provide respite care for children and young people with complex health needs both in their own homes and in while they are attending Special school.

You will also work alongside the Nurse led Paediatric Phlebotomy Team supporting them in the running of the clinic as well as supporting the Community Children's Nursing Team .
