Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled, self-motivated Band 7 Adult Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our friendly team in Shropshire. Our busy departments provide a high standard of MSK physiotherapy assessment and treatment to the local community of Telford & Wrekin. This role will be a split role based in our Euston House (Telford) & Newport sites.

This post would be suitable for an experienced Band 6 physiotherapist looking for career development with evidence of recent work within the musculoskeletal field and an enthusiasm for this specialty. Professional support is provided by senior Physiotherapists, Advanced Practice Physiotherapist's & General Practitioners with Extended Roles and we encourage clinical supervision and training.

The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner providing evidence based physiotherapy assessment and treatment within the out-patient team to clients with a range of musculoskeletal condition. There will be a requirement to support and mentor junior clinicians. Your role will also include supporting the new MSK Transformation service by assisting with triage of incoming referrals for a wide range of MSK specialties including physiotherapy, podiatry and hand therapy. You may be required to support some of our other clinical sites.

Main duties of the job

To assess, diagnose/interpret and manage own highly specialist caseload of complex musculoskeletal patients as an autonomous physiotherapist in accordance with Professional Code of Conduct and Health and Care Professions Council Regulations, within an outpatient environment.

To develop, through experience and postgraduate training, the highly specialist knowledge and clinical skills required for working within an MSK outpatient setting and to provide support, mentoring and training to develop more junior staff to ensure evidenced based treatment is provided.

To triage referrals from local GP surgeries and to work with colleagues across Shropshire to deliver an effective triage service.
