A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Speech and Language Therapy in a well-established, experienced and passionate team who are committed to making a difference in people's lives. The Community Neuro Rehab Team (CNRT) is a multi-disciplinary team, providing services across the county of Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, for people with acquired brain injuries and progressive neurological conditions. The team comprises of registered Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Psychology staff in addition to support workers.
Neurological rehabilitation aligns with the vision of Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care System, empowering people to live their best life, promoting self-care and independence. This is a time of change for the service with an ongoing review of how we can best support our patients and therefore the clinical leads will need to be motivated to explore the use of different ways of working and be excited by innovative and creative models of service delivery. The post holder will draw on their extensive experience of rehabilitation and leadership skills to deliver transformation, supported by the Team Leader, senior leads and members of our corporate and quality teams.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a passionate SLT who will lead the clinical team and provide advanced, highly specialist, clinically autonomous speech and language therapy input to adults with acquired brain injury including stroke, and to those with progressive neurological conditions as part of the Community Neuro Rehab Team.
The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent clinical skills, communication skills, an ability to work flexibly within the team and be an open and positive individual who wishes to strive to see the best for both our patients and our staff. A good understanding of data and the importance of evidence to underpin decision making will be essential to deliver quality and performance change.

Essential
- Holds recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree (or equivalent qualification dependent on year of qualification).
- Holds Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Licence to Practice as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Registered with Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
- Post graduate qualifications relevant to specialist acquired neurological disorders field. Must hold post graduate certificate in dysphagia (or equivalent substantial experience and experiential training to demonstrate skills).
- Experiential training to demonstrate highly specialist skills in areas of acquired neurological communication and swallowing disorders.
EXPERIENCE

- Significant post qualification experience in this specialist field; experience of supervising and developing case management skills in less experienced staff, experience of developing and delivering training.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
