An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 to join the Day Surgery Team in Bridgnorth Hospital.
We are a small community hospital in the heart of the beautiful Shropshire countryside with good transport links to the rest of Shropshire, Telford, and the West Midlands. We offer excellent training and development opportunities. We are a small and friendly team who would love to welcome someone who will bring new and fresh ideas to our unit. The unit is operational Monday to Friday currently and provides a mixture of services/ specialities and is busy with a high patient turnover and requires a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who has knowledge or experience in delivering patient care within Day Surgery setting and managing a group of staff. You will need to possess excellent communication, organisation, time management, problem solving and interpersonal skills. A polite and courteous manner towards patients and relatives will be essential for this role, together with your ability to work under pressure as part of the team on a busy unit and link with other departments within the Hospital.

Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will work alongside other members of the team to deliver high quality compassionate care and support patients with treatment pathway within Day Surgery Unit. They will play a vital role in supporting the running of our unit and working alongside partner organisations and nursing and medical colleagues to provide diagnostic interventions and treatment to those that access our service. In addition, they will be responsible for unit and staff management duties under the lead/ support of the Inpatient Ward Manager.
The successful candidate must be caring, compassionate and possess a positive attitude to supporting colleagues in the delivery of high quality, safe, effective care for our patients. You will be expected to demonstrate and role model the uppermost professional standards, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment; and will act in accordance with the NMC Code: Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives and nursing associates, we are seeking people who can demonstrate the trusts vision and values in practice and who are motivated to be involved in innovation and service development.
