CLCH Robertson Neuro Rehabilitation is nowrecruiting!

We are looking for a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to be a part ofRobertson team in a challenging environment and to remain focused on enabling staff to deliver the Trusts core objectives of high quality patient care whilst supporting and developing the individuals within the team.

The individual will need to be focused on the patient experience to ensure all patients will have a positive and comfortable stay in the unit. You will need to display excellent communication skills, and offer care in a kind and compassionate manner. You will be dynamic, innovative, hardworking, have excellent written and verbal communication skills,and basic computer skills.

Main duties of the job

  • Contribute to ongoing patient assessment by completing documentation, recording clinical and behavioural information, and reporting to nurses or therapists.
  • Undertake delegated clinical activities within competence, such as vital signs, urinalysis, glucose monitoring, mobility training, falls prevention, and supporting independence in daily living.
  • Support patients and carers in using service resources effectively, providing up-to-date information and guidance.
  • Escalate unresolved patient questions or concerns promptly to colleagues or the multidisciplinary team.
  • Liaise with and refer patients to the wider MDT as appropriate, following local procedures.
  • Assist with general clinical duties and errands as required.
  • Prescribe and educate on appropriate equipment use after competence is achieved.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient or carer health status to the relevant team member, GP, District Nurse, or emergency services if needed.
  • Collect and document data for recognised outcome measures for interpretation by therapists or nurses.
  • Provide care to patients with challenging behaviour, maintaining a calm and safe environment.
  • Plan and implement straightforward tasks in line with protocols and delegated responsibilities.

The post is a full time position working both day and night shifts. There is also the opportunity as an substantive employee to work on the temporary staffing bank.

  • Higher Professional Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (NVQ/QCF - Level 3) or
  • Willingness to undertake further training as appropriate

Desirable

  • GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths ECDL certificate
  • Registration with the national regulatory body (when it becomes available).

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a health or social care setting
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of databases

Desirable

  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience with the NHS patient information database (Rio, CIS)

Skills & Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of NHS Demonstrate an acceptable level of numeracy and literacy.
