BANKSpecialist Dietitian- Band 6 - URGENT BANK BOOKING REQUIRED
To work within the Merton Adult Community Nutrition and Dietetic team. This Specialist Dietitian will be a member of the Dietetic team and will use advanced assessment and diagnostic skills to care for patients and advise care health professionals on future care. The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner, collaborating with colleagues in primary care, community and hospital settings as appropriate.
Main duties of the job
- To work with colleagues within the Merton Adult Community Dietetic Service, to provide a specialist clinical Dietetic Service, which contributes to the strategic planning and delivery of the multidisciplinary Community Dietetic Service in line with the strategic direction of the Service and Trust objectives.
- Be a member of the multidisciplinary Community Dietetic Service that informs the strategic planning and delivery of a high-quality integrated service in Merton
- Provide specialist assessment and treatment of clients, at triage provide expert advice to medical practitioners on, ACBS products (e.g., nutritional supplements, gluten-free products), and vitamin and mineral preparations which are available
- Liaise with other agencies and health professionals and maintain accurate clinical records. To act as a role model and support dietetic colleagues to achieve the same

- Current AHP with UK HCPC registration
- Educated to MSc or equivalent combination of post graduate qualification, MSc modules, short courses and experience in relevant clinical area

- Extensive post-registration experience as a Specialist Dietitian, including experience at band 6 or band 7 or equivalent
- Extensive experience of assessing and providing evidenced based care to people with Nutrition and Dietetic needs, including Home Enteral Feeding (HEF) patients
- Demonstrable experience in a range of care settings e.g., primary, community, secondary
- Able to prioritise workload, achieving a balance between clinical and other aspects of role
- Experience of working in a multi professional team
- Experience in teaching and training in formal and informal settings
- Experience in team management including performance management
- Experience of receiving and delivering clinical supervision
- Experience of initiating and implementing changes to services
- Experience of working collaboratively with a variety of agencies and professionals and across organisational boundaries
