Job summary

We are recruiting for enthusiastic Health visitors to lead, deliver and influence a comprehensive Health Visiting service in Richmond and local service specification for health visiting that meets the public health needs of the local communities of the borough of Richmond.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of Working Together to Safeguarding Children (2018), including improving health and life chances for children and families and safeguarding those at risk.

Please note that the base stated is The Causeway; however the vacancy may be based across the Borough and will be dependent on staffing and service need at the time of recruitment.

From April 2023 a Recruitment premia has been introduced to attract and retain qualified Health Visitors within CLCH's Health Visiting Teams.

For registered Band 6 Health Visitors, this post is offering a premium of £2,500 payable upon commencement of employment (T&C's apply)

Main duties of the job

  • To plan, organize and evaluate an innovative health visiting service in line with the Healthy Child Programme, and where appropriate, delegate to other members of the health visiting team to ensure delivery of a high-quality service.
  • To provide a skilled, effective and evidence-based health visiting service to clients in a variety of community settings.
  • To work in collaboration with other health care and service providers to ensure seamless delivery of services for clients and communities.
  • To collaborate with team colleagues in order to deliver the Quality Strategy objectives

  • Experience in providing practice based learning support to others
  • Experience of evidence based care
  • Experience of supervising staff / students

  • Knowledge of recent developments in primary care
  • Knowledge of current health and social care agenda relevant to area of work and professional practice
  • Knowledge of current health legislation [including Change for Children agenda, Children's Plan etc.)
