This is an exciting time to join us. We are continuing to build on existing models of care while introducing new, innovative ways of working. Over the next 12 months, our transformation plans include deeper integration with primary care, strengthening both planned and unplanned care pathways, and placing greater emphasis on population health. You will deliver person-centred clinical care while working collaboratively across the service, and provide day-to-day professional leadership to ensure consistently high standards of care.
Main duties of the job
- To provide specialised treatments with the appropriate skills and knowledge
- To autonomously assess and diagnose patients
- To have the ability to assess patients with very high risk factors
- To create and implement tailored treatment and specialised care plans
- To adopt a problem solving approach, engaging patients and carers in their treatment plan
- To provide general and specialist foot health advice
- To carry out regular Nail Surgery sessions on a rotational basis
- To liaise with members of the wider multidisciplinary team
- To have a high level of focus and concentration necessary to work in an environment of interruptions and distractions while simultaneously performing complicated and physically demanding treatment.
- To delegate care in appropriate circumstances to Podiatry assistants
- To maintain accurate patient records including assessment and treatment plans
- Ensure that the condition of clinical rooms are maintained in accordance with infection control and the Podiatry service guidelines.
- To be involved in developing clinical standards and protocols of care in line with community and service needs.

Essential
- Diploma/Degree in Podiatric medicine (or the equivalent)
- Registration with HCPC
- Certificate in Local Anaesthesia
- Knowledge of recent developments in NHS
- Knowledge of Evidence based practice
- Evidence of personal development
- Knowledge of NMC code of professional conduct
Desirable
- First Level Degree
- Willingness to undertake further training and qualifications to enhance clinical skill base
- Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
- Relevant courses in Long Term Conditions Management
- Course of Top to Toe examination/ diagnosis Experience
- Willing to undertake Clinical Practice teaching course within 2 years in post.

- Substantial experience as District Nurse Caseload manager/Team leader
- Knowledge of the lower limb complications associated with Diabetes
