The closing date is 03 February 2026

Job summary

We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our Acute Wound Care Clinic, based at Soho Centre for Health and Care, part of our Walk-In Centre service. The clinic operates seven days a week, providing timely and responsive care to a diverse local population.

This role is suited to a nurse with an interest or experience in urgent care and acute wound management, who values high-quality, compassionate care and collaborative working. You will join a supportive, multidisciplinary team where learning is encouraged, different perspectives are valued and staff are trusted to work with appropriate autonomy.

The service works within the scope of advanced clinical practice, and nurses are supported to remain up to date with evidence-based wound care and ongoing professional development.

The post is worked on a rotational shift basis between 8am and 8pm, Monday - Friday and 10am -8pm (Saturday and Sunday). There may be occasional opportunities to work across other Walk-In Centre sites, including St Charles and Parsons Green, to support service delivery and shared learning.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

  • Assess, plan and deliver care for people presenting with acute and post-operative wounds, including minor burns, using evidence-based practice
  • Manage both simple and complex wounds, identifying early signs of deterioration and escalating concerns appropriately to support safe outcomes
  • Take ownership of clinical decisions, following through on actions and contributing to continuous improvement in care delivery
  • Provide holistic, person-centred care, taking account of individual needs, preferences and circumstances
  • Communicate clearly, respectfully and compassionately with patients, carers and colleagues, particularly during busy or time-pressured periods
  • Work collaboratively within a diverse team, contributing ideas, listening to others and supporting an inclusive working environment
  • Support the Team Lead in the day-to-day operation of the clinic, helping to maintain a safe, organised and effective service
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional, governance and information standards
  • Engage in supervision, training and reflective practice, taking responsibility for ongoing development and supporting colleagues when appropriate
