Central London Community Health Trust

Named Nurse for Children Looked After

The closing date is 19 January 2026

Job summary

Following the partial retirement of the current post holder, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to join our dedicated Children Looked After (CLA) nursing team in a leadership position.

The post holder will work part time (15 hours per week) alongside the current post holder. You will jointly be responsible for strategic oversight and day to day leadership of the service.

You will work closely with the wider health and social care team and Designated professionals for Children looked after to ensure high quality services to children looked after and care leavers placed by the borough. You will also hold a clinical caseload.

It is expected that the post holder will autonomously undertake direct specialist clinical work including carrying out statutory health assessment reviews on Children Looked After. This includes undertaking the health assessment and/or liaison with other agencies and services, coordinating effective care and acting as an advocate where necessary.

An interest and knowledge of children looked after and young people is essential. Experience of safeguarding and multi-agency working is also key to the role.

The post holder will be required to demonstrate sound leadership skills and the ability to manage a team across complex healthcare environments.

The post sits within the Brent Children's Clinical Service Unit (CSU). We encourage strong links between LAC teams within the trust.
