Job summary
To provide a high standard Physiotherapy Service to Children and Young People within the Merton Borough, with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions including sports injuries, growth related problems, scoliosis, orthopaedic conditions, fractures and persisting pain in the community setting which is most appropriate for that child/ young person, i.e. clinic, school, nursery, patient's home, children's centres.
Main duties of the job
To provide comprehensive assessment and treatment of children and young people referred for MSK physiotherapy using best current evidence based practice. To work as part of a team in providing paediatric MSK physiotherapy.
To contribute to service reviews and engage in service development activities.
To support and supervise junior MSK physiotherapy staff ensuring their development

- Current HCPC registration
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

- Membership of the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists
- Evidence of ongoing training and experience including clinical supervision and child protection
- Evidence of training and experience treatment of paediatric MSK conditions

- Specialist knowledge/skills/experience in paediatric physiotherapy - MSK
- Experience at Band 5/6 level
- Post graduate experience covering core rotations
- Knowledge and experience in the use of relevant assessment and treatment approaches and practices, including the use of standardised assessments
- Evidence of effective multidisciplinary and multi-agency work
- Knowledge and experience of outcome measures and implementing these to evidence positive change in service users
- Experience in receiving supervision, appraisal, performance management
- Extensive post-graduate physiotherapist experience covering core rotations including Paediatrics, Orthopedics and MSK
- Specific Paediatric physiotherapy experience Or evident transferable skills from previous experience working as a physiotherapist
- Good general knowledge of normal child development
- Ability to delegate tasks
