Patient & Staff Logistics Officer

The closing date is 28 December 2025

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our new management structure within our Resilience Directorate. We are looking to appoint a Patient and Staff Logistics Officer, a key role leading the Trust's Patient Transport Booking Bureau and managing our Interpreting Services and Uniforms for staff within our clinical services.

This post sits within our Resilience Directorate, which provides centralised support to the Clinical Operating Divisions for services including emergency planning and major incident management, CQC compliance, patient transport, interpreting services, and a health and safety function for the Trust.

The postholder will provide line management and support for the patient and staff logistics team and ensure that the PTS booking centre operates effectively throughout its opening hours, maintaining reasonable call waiting times. This will ensure all queries relating to transport and interpreting services are managed in a timely manner, including any escalations from the patient and staff logistics coordinators.

You will also support the Head of EPRR and Patient and Staff Logistics with the procurement and contract management of these services across the CLCH geography. Alongside this, you will provide reports for the operating divisions on the use and operating processes of these services, ensuring quality, value for money, and a consistently positive experience for patients and staff.

Main duties of the job

  • Represent the patient transport, interpreting and uniform services at multi-agency meetings and events
  • Provide training for patients and staff on how to access these services.
  • Participate in national forums and working groups that contribute to the strategic development of these services within the NHS.
  • Communicate confidently with members of the public, managing enquiries and potential complaints in a polite, compassionate and professional manner.
  • Use Microsoft Office products, including Teams and particularly Excel, for data entry and reporting (training will be provided on all digital systems used by the team).
  • Draw on any previous call centre handling and management experience, as the transport booking bureau operates as a call centre for patients.
  • Develop standard operating processes and administrative systems, ensuring rollout and consistent adherence across the team.
  • Join the on-call rota within the wider Resilience Directorate.
  • Complete reporting and administrative tasks relating to all areas within the portfolio.
  • Provide line management for the patient transport, interpreting and uniform teams.
