Job summary

Are you a qualified Nursing Associate looking for a supportive team and the opportunity to develop new skills? This is an exciting time to join the community nursing service in West Herts. We are developing new community pathways which will support the delivery of more care in people's homes, and to enable us to do this we have a range of new learning and development opportunities available through the CLCH Academy.

We have a new opportunity for a Band 4 Nursing Associate to join our community nursing team in the Watford area.

You will be supported to develop and achieve competencies to provide individualised care to patients who have long-term conditions and to complete various nursing assessments and following treatment regimes.

Working as a nursing associate you will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care, putting patients at the heart of everything you do.

You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to be able to think on the spot and be empathetic.

For this role you will need to be able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with other staff and patients.

You will be passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement, where patient welfare is at the heart of all you do.

It will be your responsibility to ensure that your behaviour and values reflect those of CLCH.

The post holder will be required to have access to a car to complete patient visits in the community settings.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must have the relevant NA or AP qualification already in place, and ideally will have had previous experience of working in the community.

Key skills to demonstrate in your application are your clinical skills and experience, team work, communication skills, and willingness to learn. We are a home visiting service, so a driving license and access to a vehicle which is available for work use are essential requirements for the role.

The nursing associate will be working predominantly with patients, community nursing team, GP practices, and multidisciplinary team.

You will have regular input from the Professional Development Nurses and your Team Leader to support you in gaining the competencies relevant to your role. We also have a great track record of supporting Registered Nursing Associates to complete the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship Programme.

There is a requirement to contribute to our weekend rota, typically working three weekend days out of every four week roster cycle.

We can offer you:

  • A comprehensive induction into the community service followed by a local induction to introduce you to the role
  • Car lease scheme *T&C's apply (Band 5 and above roles)
  • Flexible working options
