Job summary
We have the new and exciting opportunity for a band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our Speech and Language Therapist Education Service, fixed term for 9 months.
The role will involve supporting children and young people within specialist educational settings in the boroughs of Westminster, and Kensington and Chelsea.

Main duties of the job
Providing specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention to children and young people with speech, language and communication needs as relevant to the role. This will include supporting parents, school staff and other professionals in all issues related to client management. Liaison with the MDT is an integral part of the roleProviding advice to others regarding the management and care of children with communication difficultiesBeing accountable for own professional actions and recognising own professional boundaries, seeking advice from senior colleagues as appropriateProviding some day-to-day supervision and peer review support to less experienced colleagues and students, including second opinions when necessary.

- Current registered membership of HCPC and RCSLT
Experience

- Experience of supporting CYP, families and schools in line with the Children and Families Act 2014 including contribution to statutory assessments (Education Health and Care Plan Needs Assessments), contribution to the annual review process and delivery of SLT provision as specified in Education health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Collaborative work with parents and other professionals
- Experience Training others
Desirable
- Interest to develop clinical specialism in education
- Training/experience of supporting students and more junior qualified therapists including provision of supervision and line management
