Exciting Opportunity: Community Dietitian - Central London Community Healthcare

Central London Community Healthcare is looking for an experienced and motivated Dietitian to join our dedicated team. This role offers the chance to make a real difference by supporting patients to manage their health and wellbeing at home.

You'll use and build upon your strong clinical knowledge in nutrition support and chronic disease management, contributing to high-quality, person-centred care within the community.

This is a full-time, 9-month fixed-term position (maternity cover), with flexibility available -- we welcome applications from those seeking part-time hours or alternative working patterns.

Main duties of the job

Managing your own clinical caseload, you will see housebound patients in their own home. You will cover the Kilburn and Willesden areas of Brent.

You must be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for working in a community setting. Communicating evidence-based personalised dietetic advice to the diverse population of Brent in an engaging style is a key component of this position.

Education / Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or postgraduate diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics
  • Health and Care Professions Council registration
  • Evidence of continuous professional development

Desirable

  • Post graduate qualification in a dietetic related field (eg Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Warwick Certificate in Diabetes Care)
  • Membership of British Dietetic Association

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive post-registration experience in a range of clinical area (including nutrition support) and clinical settings (including community-based work)
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage complex caseload
  • Excellent knowledge of clinical nutritional risk within their specialism
  • Experience of supervising and/or line managing dietitians or other clinical staff
  • Experience of training and supervising student dietitians
  • Advanced knowledge of and expertise in the dietetic treatment of chronic conditions including diabetes, obesity, enteral feeding and cardiovascular disease & Nutrition Support
  • Experience of using behavioural change and counselling techniques to promote lifestyle changes with individuals and groups
  • Experience of conducting audits and/or research on nutrition support
  • Experience of leading on policy, procedures, guidelines and clinical standards development
