Job summary
We have a full-time Band 7 post within our Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) team in Wandsworth and are looking for a skilled, motivated and enthusiastic SLT who would like to join us.
Maximising Independence is a friendly multidisciplinary team that sits within the Community Adult Health Services provided by Wandsworth CLCH Trust. The team comprises of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Rehabilitation Assistants. We are a community-based therapy team providing care to the residents of Wandsworth within their own homes, care homes or day centres.
We work with a general adult caseload who you will provide assessment, treatment, and support to those experiencing swallowing difficulties and communication impairments. We work closely with our community colleagues including within the MDTs, primary and secondary care services, voluntary and third sector organisations.
Main duties of the job
- Be an active member of the clinical team, providing a comprehensive Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapy service.
- To provide skilled dysphagia and communication assessments and treatments to the general adult community population of Wandsworth.
- To be proficient in managing a complex caseload of a variety of long-term conditions including dementia.
- Work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promote best practice and to undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner including assessing and treating own caseload of patients/clients and maintaining professional documentation
