Maternal Early Childhood Sustained Home visiting {MECSH} Supervisor

Job summary

MECSH is a licenced intervention programme delivered within Hammersmith and Fulham 0 -19 Service.

The MECSH Supervisor will work with the MECSH co-ordinator and Health visitor teams. They will have the key responsibility to support the Health Visitors to effectively implement the MECSH Programme within their practice and work collaboratively with them to improve theequity and quality of child and family health service delivery.

They will support clinical practices for MESCH within their allocated teams through training, reflection, supervision and case review and have a pro-rated caseload of generic clients which will include MECSH clients.

They will be responsible for the allocation of MECSH clients within a team and act as a role model for practice. They will provide training for new staff into the teams on MECSH They will work collaboratively with the Health Visiting Team Leads.

Main duties of the job

  • To hold a small caseload of MECSH clients
  • Undertake home visits in accordance with MECSH
  • Use high level interpersonal and communication skills to provide and receive complex andoften highly sensitive information. Use strengths based, solution focused strategies andmotivational interviewing skills to enable families to develop behaviour change strategies.
  • Use professional and clinical judgement to undertake detailed assessments of clients andtheir families and analyse complex family situations in order to develop appropriate clinicalinterventions.
  • Actively engage and work with all members of the extended family to achieve positiveoutcomes for children.
