Job summary

CLCH is seeking to recruit an Assistant Commercial to support a busy team that develop and negotiate contractual arrangements affecting CLCH revenue, provide support and key information to the department and organisation at large. The role is also responsible for daily horizon scanning of opportunities on tender portals.

This will involve the provision of timely, high quality contractual/commercial support for individual bids/proposals to existing and prospective commissioners.

Main duties of the job

CLCH is seeking to recruit candidates that have a background in NHS, Public Health contracting and some experience in project management. Attention to detail and confidence in working in Excel, PowerPoint is essential.

  • Educated to first degree level with relevant commercial and contracting experience or equivalent experience.
  • Portfolio /evidence of qualifications and experience e.g. contract negotiation and management in public and/or private and/or third sector

Desirable

  • NHS and commercial contract negotiation/ monitoring experience or legal qualification

Experience

  • Exposure to contracting and performance management
  • Experience in monitoring and managing Business As Usual matters related to contract
  • Reviewing contracts, SLAs and short - form legal agreements
  • Directly working with senior executives
  • Numerate
  • Decisive and assertive, as and when circumstances require
  • Knowledge of contract structures and risk identification

Desirable

  • Working closely with bid management personnel and in a business development environment
  • Exposure to senior executives on both the provider and commissioner side
  • Acting as a first point of contact for day - to - day enquiries from inside and outside the organisation
  • Describing contractual situations in "lay mans" terms

  • IT literate and competent, especially in MS packages (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
