Job summary
Your role will be to provide a high standard Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy service, working with children from birth to 19 years, with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including sports injuries, growth related problems, orthopaedic problems, fractures and persistent pain. The service is delivered mainly in an out-patients clinic setting, but may also require visits to patient's homes, mainstream schools or other community environments.
You will work closely with established multi-professional teams within Merton Community services and with outside services to deliver physiotherapy advice and treatment meeting the needs of children and young people. You will have had experience of working with children in a clinic or community setting and your communication and team working skills will be excellent.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard physiotherapy service to children and young people within the Merton Borough, with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions including sports injuries, growth related problems, scoliosis, orthopaedic conditions, fractures and persisting pain in the community setting which is most appropriate for that child/ young person, i.e. clinic, school, nursery, patient's home, children's centres.

- HCPC registered
- Attendance at specialist short courses or equivalent CPD activities within the specialist areas of Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal Outpatients

- Extensive Post-graduate physiotherapist experience as a Band 5, including NHS; covering core rotations including Paediatrics, Orthopaedics and MSK
- Specific Paediatric physiotherapy experience
- Good general knowledge of normal child development
- Ability to supervise junior staff/ assistant/ students
- Ability to delegate tasks
- Experience of MDT working
- Experience of working with external organisations eg social services, schools, portage
- Demonstrate appropriate use of initiative
- Ability to monitor/ evaluate own performance and initiate changes in work practice
- Flexible, able to cope with change and adaptable to meet the demands of the service.
- Sensitive to needs of others
