Central London Community Health NHS Trust (CLCH) is seeking to recruit a Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children in Merton This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated practitioner to join our safeguarding team.
We are looking appoint a practitioner with experience of working with complex cases and who has a good understanding of the legal duties to protect Children under the Children Act (1989, 2004) and of the statutory role the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children
The post holder will be supported to lead and influence the safeguarding children's agenda in Merton. The ability to work independently is essential and post holder may at times be required to travel to Trust venues in the delivery of their work and role. The post holder will manage the Safeguarding Children Advisors in Merton. The post holder will have access to clinical and safeguarding supervision and training, to support their personal and professional development.
Main duties of the job
The role will support the Associate Director of Safeguarding and her deputies to deliver safeguarding assurance through the safeguarding work plan and lead on key projects/work streams.
The post holder will be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and have completed specific training in the care and development of children and young people and undertaken post-registration safeguarding children training prior to commencement of this statutory position.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring there is an effective framework in place for safeguarding children and young people in Merton to ensure CLCH staff are competent and confident in identifying abuse and taking actions to safeguard a child, young person or adult from harm or injury, in line with the Royal College of Nursing Intercollegiate Guidance2019.
The post holder will also work with the Merton Safeguarding Children Partnership (MSCP), the Southwest London Integrated Care Board, and system partners to lead and enhance positive outcomes for children.
The post holder will be supported to develop their role, competencies, and experience within CLCH and through work with the CLCH Academy
