Job summary

We are excited to seek a new member of our team as the Operations Manager to join the Manage & Enable Directorate. The successful post holder will provide high level business support and take responsibility for the delivery in accordance with NWL PS strategies and corporate objectives.

The Operations Manager will take responsibility for maintaining a comprehensive day to day procurement administrative leadership and support function to the Manage and Enable Directorate (M&E) to enable the overall NWLPS to deliver excellent customer service, best value for money and compliance with NWL PS governance.

The Operations Manager shall work in accordance with direction from the Head of Emergency Planning, Director of Procurement Excellence, Head of Contracts Management and SRM, Head of Performance & Reporting and Head of Social Values & Sustainability, to ensure that procurement processes effectively support NWL PS strategies and plans.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will develop and maintain outstanding working relationships with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation.

There is a requirement to work with minimal supervision and show flexibility within the multi-disciplinary team. In addition, there will be provision for business management, risk management, corporate governance and development as the overall NWLPS further continues the journey of delivering first class services to the Sector

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level combination of diploma level education, short courses / training / experience

Desirable

  • Prince 2 Qualification or equivalent
  • CIPS Level 4 minimum
  • Certificate in management or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Management/leadership experience
  • Experience of supporting high profile meetings
  • Experience of supporting senior managers including taking appropriate follow up action as required
  • Experience of working in busy and pressurised office with the ability to prioritise workload to meet conflicting demands
  • Experience of handling highly confidential and sensitive information

Desirable

  • NHS administrative experience
  • Previous PA or business manager experience at a senior level
