Job summary
An opportunity for fixed term contract (until 31 Mar 2026) has arisen for 2-days a week (0.4 WTE) position to work within the CLCH Oral Health Promotion Service as an oral health promoter. There is a possibility of further extension of this contract.
The commissioned service is the Oral Health Promotion (OHP) contract across the London boroughs of Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham and Kensington and Chelsea.
This service is provided within children's centres, targeted primary schools, Early Years settings, families, care homes and other key prioritized groups as defined in the contract.
Main duties of the job
The Oral Health Promoter must hold a dental nursing qualification and registration with General Dental Council (UK) and a recognised fluoride varnish application qualification. Oral Health Education qualification is not mandatory but but highly desirable.
The Oral Health Promoter will become a member of a highly regarded OHP Team to provide evidence based oral health promotion and education to the statutory, voluntary and community groups and individuals within the local population in order to help reduce the inequalities in oral health. The staff member will provide support and train members of the Early Years Workforce, Health Visiting staff and other health professionals in order to able to lead on and continue the initiatives implemented, thus creating sustainability of programmes.
Oral Health Promotion is a multifaceted role requiring an expansive knowledge base and a diversity of inter-personal and organisational skills.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The post holder will have regular contact with a diverse range of multidisciplinary team members including Clinical Director, Clinical Lead for Dental Therapy and Oral Health Promotion services, Oral Health Promotion Service Manager, Oral Health Promotion Team, Clinical Leads, Dentists, Dental Nurse Team Leads, Senior Data Analyst, Administrative teams, Patient Safety Manager and Patient Experience Facilitator.
