Working pattern: 18.75 hours per weekHours: FlexibleSalary range: £42,936 to £50,697 pro rata including HCA outer ?Band 6

About the Role:

As a Band 6 Dietitian, you will play a vital role in supporting patients in the community who are at risk of malnutrition. You'll work closely with patients, their families, and carers, using a food-based approach and appropriate prescribing of oral nutritional supplements in line with our pathway and the North Central London (NCL) formulary. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in home

Main duties of the job

Who are we looking for?

  • The ideal candidate will have skills and experience across a range of clinical dietetic specialties, gained in either an acute or community setting.
  • You should be enthusiastic about specialising in oral nutritional support and home enteral tube feeding and ready to take the next step in your dietetic career.
  • In this role as a Dietitian we require flexibility to cover additional areas as needed.

Your responsibilities as a Dietitian:

Community Support: Provide care for patients at risk of malnutrition by liaising with patients, relatives, and carers, using a food-based approach and prescribing oral nutritional supplements in line with the North Central London (NCL) formulary.

Home Enteral Tube Feeding: Gain experience in supporting patients on home enteral tube feeding, contributing to their nutritional care together with other health care professionals.

Collaborative Communication: Regularly interact with GP practices, hospital dietitians, pharmacists, and other community-based teams, including nursing, One Care Home, and Frailty MDTs, ensuring coordinated care.

Essential

  • Degree / Diploma in Dietetics
  • Current AHP with UK HCPC registration
  • Evidence of other post registration education and training in nutrition support and enteral feeding

Desirable

Experience

Essential

  • Post-registration and previous experience in a range of clinical areas including nutrition support, food fortification, recommending the prescribing of oral nutrition supplements and enteral feeding, obesity and diabetes in a variety of settings.
  • Experience in managing patients requiring nutrition support with other nutrition related diseases such as diabetes, cancer, malnutrition
  • Experience working in Community Dietetics, Nursing and Residential Homes
  • Experience in training/teaching healthcare professionals ? Experience in the training of student Dietitians
