Job summary
We are pleased to be able to offer a Band 6 permanent post within the Adult Community SALT service in the London Borough of Brent. We are a dynamic and welcoming team of SLTs and SLT Assistant, focused on providing high standard patient-centred care with emphasis on continuing service development and excellent links with our community multidisciplinary team and the local acute SLTs. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative Speech and Language Therapist to complete our Adult SLT Team.
Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will provide assessment and therapy in dysphagia and communication to a wide range of adult clients with complex conditions including acquired and progressive neurological conditions. The role is based at Willesden Centre for Health & Care.
You will have the rewarding experience of working with patients within the area of Brent, a vibrant multicultural London Community, offering both domiciliary and outpatient care.
You will have the opportunity to engage with service development such as research, audits and QI projects, for which CLCH also offers comprehensive training and support.
You will also be able to develop specialist skills such as LSVT and/or stammering.

Essential
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree or equivalent
- Registration with HCPC
- Dysphagia competent
Desirable
- Registration with Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Evidence of further study e.g. postgraduate degree, short courses relating to community setting
Experience
Essential
- Management of neurological and long term conditions
- Assessment & treatment of complex clients with speech, language, communication needs and dysphagia
- Working with carers & MDT
- Writing reports and maintaining case notes
- Delivering and evaluating training
- Management of own caseload
Desirable
- Member of a relevant CEN
- Experience of working in acute and community settings as well as in nursing homes.
- Experience of supervising junior members of staff
- Stammering training
- LSVT training
