An exciting opportunity has arisen for an 8a Advanced Practitioner to join our team delivering high quality urgent care to our patients and families.
If you are looking for a new challenge, we are looking for an individual with confidence, enthusiasm, compassion and a positive approach to teamwork, with experience in an Emergency, Acute or Urgent Care setting. Candidates must hold either a Registered General Nurse or Paramedic qualification and possess the skills and motivation required to develop themselves and the service. It is essential that you have clinical expertise in independently managing an array of clinical conditions in adults and children. You will be responsible with a team of other 8a clinicians and practice educator for helping to lead and develop the service providing clinical excellence, leadership, mentoring, teaching, supervision, and appraisal. You will develop clinical pathways and review clinical effectiveness.
You will be integral in leading and developing our experienced multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors and support colleagues and developing your own advanced practice skills and knowledge. We would particularly welcome applications from clinicians with a paediatric qualification.
Main duties of the job
The role is a clinical leadership role with the main duties of the job will include:
- Ensure the services are delivering high quality evidence-based care to patients attending with injuries and undifferentiated health problems. The post holder will be expected to work autonomously as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner delivering care to our patients.
- Utilising expert diagnostic skills and clinical reasoning to provide autonomous, unscheduled care for patients presenting with acute undifferentiated conditions and minor injuries although some patients attending may present with complex health needs and / or acute on chronic conditions).
- The post holder will deliver care in collaboration with emergency services, other health care professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies.
- To work in association with colleagues in defining standards of care and practice aimed at maintaining, developing, or improving quality.
- To work with the senior staff in the operational management and the organisational development of the service.
- Responsibility for day-to-day management of the service.
- Take designated responsibility for discrete areas of operational management/clinical practice.
- Communicate highly complex and sensitive information to patients, carers, and other staff.
- Deliver care within a culturally sensitive framework.
- Implement, carry out disseminate and evaluate service audits
