Job summary

Are you in a clinical role with an interest in the Shared Governance Programme? Are you keen to develop yourself and gain a better understanding of quality councils, quality improvement and supporting with projects then this role could be for you?

The Shared Governance Quality Fellow will work collaboratively with Shared Governance Quality Councils across the Trust and within Divisions in planning, implementing and support the ongoing Shared Governance programme in line with the objectives of the Quality Strategy & Equality Strategy.

The post holder will work closely with the Shared Governance Programme Lead and Associate Director of Effectiveness & Accreditation to support taking the programme forward as planned and to support a cultural change within the Trust as part of the shared governance model.

This is a secondment opportunity initially for a 12-month period with potential of extending to 2 years. The Quality Fellow will lead on a number of Shared Governance Projects which will help support the delivery of the Trusts' Quality Strategy & Equality Strategy.

Main duties of the job

  • Supporting the Shared Governance Programme Lead in maintaining the progress of the project and understanding the principles of shared governance. Accessing key resources and ensuring engagement of stakeholders.
  • Supporting with the Shared Governance Programme Lead, on the work of the Shared Governance programme and updating at the divisional Quality Forums/Board sharing the progress of quality councils.
  • Monitoring the memberships of each of the divisional chair monthly update meetings, to ensure that they are well represented by appropriate staff members.
  • Supporting the recruitment of patient facing staff to quality councils.
  • Supporting with new quality council chairs.
  • Working collaboratively with the Head of Volunteering and Engagement to engage with service users and volunteers to join quality councils.
  • Deputising for the Shared Governance Programme Lead as required.
