Bank GP Edgware Urgent Care/ Walk In Centre

We have opportunities for General Practitioners to join our temporary staff bank at the Edgware Urgent Care and Walk in Centre.

Working within the local integrated care system the services provide high quality unscheduled care to adults and children presenting with illness and injury conditions and both services benefit from the availability of x-ray facilities. A proportion of our patients are also seen by appointment via NHS-111.

You will be supported by a friendly team of experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners and reception colleagues.

Applicants must be registered with the GMC and hold MRCGP qualification

Main duties of the job

Clinical Responsibilities:o To provide high quality medical services in the context of a Walk-In Centre to thepatientso Provide support to the team of nurse practitioners and healthcare staff in theassessment and treatment of unscheduled, same day walk-in consultations.o Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems,whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within theorganisationo Using evidence based knowledge when treating patientso To provide appropriate health education and advice to patients attending the WICo To appropriately request and interpret investigations including ECGs and X-rays.o Referring to other care providers or 999 if appropriateo Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes in conjunction with localpolicy and professional guidelineso Issuing computer-generated acute prescriptions
