Job summary

Brent Special School Nursing team are looking for a flexible, motivated and highly skilled health care assistant to join us in supporting children and young people with health needs to attend school and achieve their potential. We are based at The Village school in Brent but also provide outreach services to Woodfield and Manor school.

You may be expected to travel between sites to support the nursing team with tasks such as heights and weights so will need excellent communication skills, administration and IT skills to support the team in delivering a high-quality service to the pupils and any professional partners. Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an individual that has experience working with children with complex healthcare and additional needs. You will also demonstrate commitment to continued development and innovation within the team, have the ability to be flexible to the needs of the service and work as part of a team but also autonomously as required when attending the outreach schools.

The post holder will be supporting the registered nurses within the team, carrying out heights and weights, completing continence assessments and liaising with lots of other agencies. The Post holder will support the training of Learning Support Assistants/Teaching assistants to deliver the child's care plan whilst at school.

The post holder will be actively involved in participating with the development and implementation of practice within the special schools nursing team ensuring that evidenced based practice is being delivered. to carry out the care plans for the children that are within the special schools.
