Are you a Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, Orthoptist, Paramedic, Physiotherapist, Podiatrist or Speech and Language Therapist considering return to practice?

CLCH can provide you with full support to update your skills and knowledge so you can return to practice as a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered AHP.

At CLCH we appreciate that returning healthcare professionals are often highly experienced with a great deal to offer both patients and to the organisation. We are very proud to have successfully supported AHP returnees at CLCH and happy to provide information about what is involved.

Main duties of the job

During your return to practice period we will employ you as a Band 4 Therapy Assistant and on successful completion this can lead to a substantive registered practitioner role in one of our supportive teams.

Depending on how long you have been out of practice, the return to practice process can take between one to three months to complete. On successful completion you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to return to practice with confidence.

  1. Apply clinical reasoning, analysis, assessment and re-assessment skills and patient-centred goal setting approach by providing therapeutic treatment programme under the supervision of a registered AHP.
  2. Be responsible for a clinical caseload working to agreed therapeutic treatment objectives and assist registered AHPs in carrying out individual treatment plans.
  3. Provide therapeutic interventions as part of a multi-professional team within an agreed scope of practice by a registered AHP.
  4. Deliver, plan and implement an effective and competent therapy programme under the direction and supervision of a registered AHP.
