Job summary

0-19 Clinical Lead

Merton 0-19 Health Visiting and School Nursing Team is seeking a dynamic individual with a strong public health focus who is fully committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our diverse population with a real enthusiasm to manage the day-to-day, on-going delivery and development of the 0-19 years' service and teams within your remit.

You will provide a service that is responsive, high quality, value for money and meets our contractual obligations including service development.

You will support the Clinical Service Unit Manager in the management and leadership of the services within Merton. This will include leading your team and working in partnership with other key stakeholders including GP's. You will be a highly motivated individual who confidently develops 0-19 teams supporting the management of change.

You will work with clinical pathway and professional leads to develop and re-design care pathways with other partners, implementing best practice and ensuring the maximum utilisation of resources to benefit our patients.

The successful post holder will be supported in developing skills and knowledge through the Performance Appraisal and Development Review process in delivering both the Public Health Model and the School Health Service.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Lead will co-ordinate, manage and be accountable for the day to day running of the Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting and School Health Service) to children, young people and their families.

To provide strong clinical and professional leadership for the health visiting and school nursing service for children, young people and their families and work in partnership/integration with the local commissioners to ensure that joint objectives are delivered.

To support the teams in the delivery of the Quality Strategy objectives.

The will work collaboratively with the Safeguarding Named Nurse to ensure that systems are in place throughout the service for the safeguarding of children and families.

  • Post registration training/education /qualification in clinical supervision/ safeguarding supervision

Desirable

  • Masters level qualification in nursing or a post graduate qualification
  • Teaching qualification or experience
  • Post Registration Management Qualification/willingness to undertake
