An exciting opportunity has arisen in our South and west Hertfordshire Community Neuro Team, for Professional Lead Clinical Psychologist. The role involves having clinical case-load of patients with Neurological Conditions, in particular people with Acquired Brain Injury. It also involves the chance to lead a developing team of Clinical Psychologists across the community neuro pathways, including the Integrated Community Stroke Service.
Clinical psychology is an essential and highly valued part of our dedicated, knowledgeable multi-disciplinary team. The role involves direct clinical work including group therapy, and being involved in strategic and professional management and supervision of our team of Clinical Psychologists. No two days are the same!
Patients are seen in their own homes or community settings, with a recently renovated office and outpatient base at Harpenden. All team members are fully agile working, enabling blended in-person and virtual sessions to be delivered as best meets client needs. As such, the postholder will be able to work flexibly from home or the office in a pattern negotiated according to their circumstances and service needs.
Main duties of the job
Our ethos is for every member of the team to grow as a clinician and a leader, and to be supported to maintain their wellbeing in both life and in work. We meet regularly for journal clubs and complex case discussions, as well as with the wider CLCH Psychological Professions Network. There are plenty of opportunities for service development within this team.
Formal development and training opportunities are available through the CLCH Academy, including support for completion of specialist neuropsychology training conferring eligibility for the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists. We have close links with the DClinPsy training course at the University of Hertfordshire, accepting trainees from all cohorts and delivering teaching on the neuropsychology and older adult modules, as well as supporting all aspects of recruitment and selection onto the course.

- Doctoral level training, or equivalent, in Clinical Psychology as recognised by the HCPC, British Psychological Society and / or the Psychological Society of Ireland (eligible for statement of equivalence) and be eligible for Chartered Status
