Job summary

Specialist Neuro Pysiotherapist - Band 6 FTC - Merton

The Merton Neuro Rehab service is a multi-disciplinary service providing neurological rehabilitation to patients (aged 18+) with acquired neurological conditions. This includes an early supported discharge service for stroke patients.

So, what do you need to join our team?

  • Significant experience in all core rotations at B5 / 6 level and demonstrable experience of working with patients with neurological impairments
  • Ability to demonstrate working autonomously in developing treatment plans, assessment, discharge planning for patients with complex care needs
  • Experience of supervising others
  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Supervise and teach recently qualified physiotherapists / physiotherapy Assistants / students, involved in teaching MDT staff
  • Undertake evidence-based projects, including recommendations for change in practice and may participate in departmental research and audit
  • Assists the Band 7 Physiotherapist by monitoring caseloads, recording statistics and prioritising referrals as required
  • To be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of the post-holders own work

  • Degree (BSc or MSc) in Physiotherapy
  • Post graduate education relevant to clinical area
  • HCPC registration

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a community setting at B5/6 level
  • Special Interest in neurology
  • Member of special interest group
  • Member of CSP

Experience

  • Experience of working in an NHS multi-professional setting dealing appropriately with patients with neurological conditions
  • Managing and working autonomously using initiative
  • Working across organisational boundaries
  • Ability to demonstrate working autonomously in developing treatment plans, assessment, discharge planning for patients with complex care needs
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of supervising others
