Job summary

We have opportunities for a Band 7 Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Emergency Care Practitioner) to join our supportive nurse led team at the Finchley Walk in Centre. You will be joining an innovative team leading the way in delivering community minor injury and illness services.

What do you need to join our team?

  • A minor injury and illness nurse practitioner / ECP with the experience, knowledge base, and decision-making skills required, to work autonomously with adults and children.
  • Current Professional registration.
  • Either Advanced Clinical Practitioner MSc/ PG-dip (or working towards) or accredited minor injuries and minor illness qualifications are essential for this post.
  • Experience of working as an autonomous practitioner in a community and/ or emergency setting.
  • Skills in Xray interpretation, fracture management and wound closure would be highly desirable.
  • An independent Nurse Prescriber Qualification would be advantageous.
  • CLCH urgent care centres cultivate a strong ethos of learning and development, therefore candidates without all the required qualifications, who demonstrate a willingness to work towards them, may be considered. This may require starting at Band 6 but with a clear path towards progression to Band 7.

  • To provide high quality evidence-based care to patients attending with injuries and undifferentiated health problems. The post holder will be expected to work as an autonomous practitioner delivering care to our
  • Utilising expert diagnostic skills and clinical reasoning to provide autonomous, unscheduled care for patients presenting with acute undifferentiated conditions (most commonly minor injuries and ailments although some patients attending may present with complex health needs and / or acute on chronic conditions).

  • To work in association with colleagues, including doctors and trainee ACPs, in defining standards of care and practice aimed at maintaining, developing or improving
