We are seeking a motivated, caring and dynamic Phlebotomist for this exciting Full-time opportunity to work with the Barnet Integrated Community Services, based at Edgware community hospital. The role is for our community phlebotomy service, seeing patients across Barnet at home, this is not a clinic based.

Main duties of the job
Phlebotomist will provide a mixture of general and specific care to a group of patients under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse or allied health professional. You will work in a variety of settings including community centers and with patient/ carers in their own homes throughout the borough of Barnet.
The post holder will be expected to become proficient and competent in their area of practice by undertaking competency assessments specific to the area of clinical practice. The Phlebotomist will promote optimum independence and individualised client centered care to a delegated caseload. Training to meet these standards will be given to the appropriate candidate.

- Good general standard of education at GCSE level (Grade 9- 4) including English and Mathematics or equivalent Level 2 qualification(s)
- Basic skills in literacy Level 1 and numeracy level 2
- Phlebotomist course
- All new Health Care Support Workers (Band 1-4) across the NHS are required to complete the Care Certificate programme. Newly recruited HCSW's are identified during our recruitment process but line managers have the responsibility to make sure that new support workers working within their teams are enrolled on the programme. Completing the Care Certificate ensures that support workers have the required values, behaviours, competences and skills to provide high quality compassionate care.
