Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities
- The post holder is responsible for the day to day running of the District Nursing team to high standards within the locality. The post holder leads the team in monitoring and improving standards of care and assists the overall development of the adult nursing service, delivering a cost effective service within the boundaries of available resources while ensuring patient safety and ensuring clinical standards are met.
- The post holder will also provide managerial and clinical leadership to community nursing & Allied health professional staff, and act as an effective role model for multidisciplinary staff members and other team members, providing evidence-based clinical advice and support to all staff within the locality.

- Post-registration qualification in district nursing or equivalent
- Nurse prescribing appropriate to role
- Evidence of continuing professional education and training at degree level
- Qualification in team / service management or prepared to work towards

- Mentor or practice based learning training
- Community or Independent Nurse Prescribing qualification or prepared to work towards
